Mathieu Boespflug is an entrepreneur and angel investor based in Athens, Greece. After a start as an academic researcher in formal methods, he founded Tweag, a software innovation lab in Paris, France in 2014. Tweag grew to employ many talented engineers from across the globe to help startups as well as nimble teams in the Fortune 500 execute on high-risk, high reward projects — from flying autonomous taxis to decentralized finance to in silico models of human physiology. Tweag was acquired by Modus Create in 2022, at which point Mathieu led its open source strategy until 2025. Mathieu earned a PhD in computer science from École Polytechnique in 2010.
