Dimitrios Dimitriou is Professor in management of critical infrastructure, specialized in transportation and supply chain, Head of the Department of Economics, Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh), Greece. He is the Head of Department of Economics in DUTh, involving in many international partnerships and collaborations with international and national professional institutes and associations. He is the Director of the Research Laboratory MaGBISE (in governance, management, business intelligence, business ethics in transportation operators and supply chain) established an UNESCO regional unit in Bioethics (Business ethics). He is the Director of the MSc program in Supply chain management, delivered by DUTh. His specialization deals with investment appraisal, project management, transport and supply chain economics, management performance, crisis management, decision making, project development, strategic management, sustainable development, strategic planning and management. His research outputs include contribution in 25 large research projects and contributions in a wide range of publications in scientific journals and international fora. His professional truck record includes the occupation of executive management positions in large organizations;the delivery of dedicated studies for international projects;and consulting in a variety of infrastructure projects. He is member of international expert and management committees in international associations and professional bodies, and he is the founder of the network of experts VIP4RIDE (https://vip4ride.com/). He is a regular member of the Special Synodical Committee of the Church of Greece, in 2021 he was awarded the prize of Valuable Contribution to the Development of business activity and the development of combined transport by the Chamber of Evros, while in 2018 he was awarded for his professional career (Professional Achievement Award in Greece) from the British Council for graduates from British Universities operating in Greece (Study UK Alumni awards).
