I elected as Mayor of Xanthi, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, in October 15th 2023 elections and I assumed duties on January 1st 2024. I am member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Union of Municipalities (PED) Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and member of the Board of Directors of the Development Society of Waste Management of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (DI.A.A.MΑ.ΤΗ D.S.A). I was born and raised in Xanthi, a city that I love and where I spent my childhood, full of beautiful memories with my family and friends. I graduated from the First High School of Xanthi and I settled in England where I studied and obtained my BA in Economics from the University of Portsmouth, wanting to learn and immerse myself in economic models of social and corporate governance. I continued my professional training by participating in numerous seminars related to the financial system. At the end of my studies I returned to Greece and then served my term in the Greek Army as a Reserve Officer. I settled then in Athens where I started my professional career, gaining significant experience and expertise from my long career in business. Initially, I worked as a consultant specializing in the development of strategic plans and the inclusion of private enterprises in financial development tools, such as the Development Law and the EESPA. Afterwards, I took on positions of high responsibility, such as that of the Director of Internal Audit in an insurance company. At the same time, I developed a business activity as the owner of a gym as well as an events organization company. In recent years, I have held the position of Sales Manager for Eastern Macedonia and Thrace in a private insurance company, a position of responsibility that requires organizational skills but also dedication to achieving important goals. However, the most important part of my life is my family, my wife and mother of my children Flora Tzitzifa and our three children Stavrilia, Alexandros and Anastasis.
