Nicos Rompapas is President of the Center for Liberal Studies (KEFIM) and previously served as its Executive Director from 2015 to 2025. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from NTUA, Athens, and an MBA from Northwestern University (Kellogg School of Management), Chicago. At KEFIM, Nicos combined his business, start-up, consulting, and commercial experience, together with the management discipline and marketing sensibility he developed at Kellogg, to transform the organization from a small volunteer-based initiative into one of Greece’s most influential and internationally recognized think tanks, with 2,500+ annual media mentions, 100,000+ book sales, and public endorsements from senior political leaders across the spectrum. Nicos complements his think-tank leadership with deep operating experience in technology and consulting, and a strong, hands-on understanding of the Greek public sector. He co-founded and led SmartL as CEO (a Blackboard Inc. and HPE Big Data partner), delivering educational technology and knowledge-management solutions. Earlier, as COO of 01-PLIROFORIKI, he oversaw overall operations, including strategic planning, sales/pre-sales, and project delivery. Based in Athens, Greece, KEFIM advances classical liberal ideas and policies through fact-based public discourse. Nicos brought global benchmarks such as Economic Freedom of the World and the Tax Competitiveness Index to Greece, launched indices on municipal effectiveness and regulatory quality, and built paratiritirio.org to track policy delivery (including election pledges). KEFIM has also run Greece’s Economics Olympiad and other economic literacy promoting initiatives for five years. Internationally, KEFIM works with partners such as Atlas Network and the European Liberal Forum, and supports EU initiatives such as the Draghi Report Observatory & Implementation Index and EPICENTER’s EU Regulatory Quality Index. Nicos is also a regular commentator on radio and TV, offering a classical liberal perspective on current issues.
