Nickolas Frydas is a Power Systems Engineer and Energy Economist with more than 34 years of international professional experience in the energy sector. Mr. Frydas has served in key executive and operational roles with major European utilities like PPC, EdF Trading, National Grid
of UK and as member of the management team of ENTSO-E in Brussels.
In 2004 he was appointed by the UN as the first Chairman of the Energy Regulatory Office of Kosovo, while in the period 2016-2020 he served as staff member of the World Bank Group, based in Belgrade. Other key roles include leading the Energy Regulatory practice at Mott MacDonald (2009 – 2014) and serving as Vice President of Grant Thornton Business
Advisory (2020-2024). As of January 2025, he has been appointed as Member of the Board of IPTO S.A. and Director of Regulatory Innovation.
