Dr. Aigly Zafeirakou is a Senior Advisor, Education Policies - Learning, consulting for the World Bank, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and other international organizations. Her work focuses on advancing national quality education systems, addressing the global learning crisis, and reinforcing human capital development. She advises governments on the implementation of evidence-based national curriculum reforms and strategies to improve learning outcomes. Her leadership in supporting reforms in Côte d’Ivoire and Benin, among other countries, has contributed to promising improvements and earned international recognition. Dr. Zafeirakou has worked with the Global Partnership for Education at the World Bank and has consulted for UNICEF, UNESCO, the OECD, and Chemonics International. She has advised education reforms in more than 30 countries worldwide. Her publications on education policy issues are in English, French, and Greek, and she is invited to present at international conferences and fora worldwide. She served as an assistant professor at the Democritus University of Thrace in Greece, a Fulbright visiting scholar, and a French government fellowship recipient. She holds a master’s and PhD from Paris West University Nanterre, France.
