Dr. Melpomeni Peppa is a Professor of Endocrinology in Medical School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Chair of the Endocrine and Bone Metabolic Disorders Unit, in the Second Propaedeutic Department of Internal Medicine, and in the Third Department of Internal Medicine, Sotiria General Hospital for Chest Diseases, Athens, Greece. She is the coordinator of the ERASMUS+/CIVIS Committee for Medicine, in Medical School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and academic Coordinator for European Universities. She holds the position of Scientific Chair for two postgraduate master’s degree programmes: New Drug Development: Research, Approval and Access and Thoracic Oncology: Current Clinical and Laboratory Approaches and Research. Professor Peppa serves as the Scientific Chair of an elective undergraduate elective course entitled “Medical and Surgical Treatment of Endocrine and Endocrine-Related Tumors”. She is a Council member of the Hellenic Association of University Women (Hel.E.GY. P.), of the EU-SABV COST (Sex as a Biological Variable) Action and of the Gender Equality Committee of the School of Medicine, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her research interests focus on the clinical, molecular, and environmental aspects of metabolic and hormonal abnormalities in diabetes, obesity, metabolism, psychiatric disease, cancer, and their complications. She has an active role (President, Vice President, Secretary, Member) in the Council of national and international scientific societies. She has written 30 chapters in books,124 publications in peer reviewed Journals, with an H-index = 41, i10-Index 87, Citations = 10700, she is teaching in postgraduate master programs, and she participates with lectures in many national and international conferences.
