Dr. Eleni Myrivili is the Global Chief Heat Officer for UNEP, UN-Habitat and the Atlantic Council’s Climate Resilience Center. She sits on the Boards of the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change and the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Advisory Board, and previously served as the City of Athens’ elected Deputy Mayor. Her expertise in heat resilience has earned international recognition: she was named among Nature’s 10 people who helped shape science in 2023 and Earth.Org’s 10 women leading the fight against climate change the same year. She delivered the first TED Talk on extreme heat and city resilience in 2022 and has been featured in media outlets including CNN, Al Jazeera, NHK World and The New York Times. Formerly a university professor, she holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Columbia University.
