Vassilis Exarchos is an economist and has been serving as President of the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government (EKDDA) since April 2023, appointed by the Minister of Interior after a competitive selection process. He previously served as Vice-President of EKDDA during the period 2021–2023. From 2019 to 2021, he held the position of President of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences in Athens. He has also worked in financial institutions of major economic groups in the United States and, since 1992, in the banking sector in Greece. He has held senior executive positions at Eurobank, Geniki Bank, and Piraeus Bank. He studied Economics at Northeastern University in Boston, USA. He obtained a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration, with specialisation in Regional Development, Political Science, and Econometrics. He later received a diploma from SS & CZoologic Learning Solutions at Harvard University, excelling in advanced banking, financial theory, and practice.
