Graduation and Ph.D. thesis (summa cum laude) from Athens University Medical School. Fellow at Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, IL,USA. Professor of Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Patras University Medical School (1999). Director of 5th Department of Medicine and Infectious Diseases Unit at “Evangelismos” General Hospital of Athens (2004-2018). Current position: Director of 2nd Department of Medicine and Infectious Diseases at “HYGEIA” General Hospital, Athens. Dr Skoutelis served as full Member of the Managing Board of European Center for Infection Control (ECDC) for several years. He was appointed at the rank of Clinical Professor of Medical School of University of Nicosia, Cyprus. He was elected President of Athens Medical Society (founded 1835) and Greek Society for Infectious Diseases. Member of several National Committees, currently Member of the Greek National Vaccination Committee. He published more than 150 peer reviewed articles in International Medical Journals.
