Dr. Lykourgos Liakakos is a political scientist and international relations expert holding a PhD in International Law, specializing in the Law of the Sea, from Panteion University. He has served as a lecturer at the Laiko Panepistimio Athinon (Open University of Athens), teaching international law, international relations, and foreign policy. As Scientific Director of the MESONISOS Cultural and Development Center in Greece, he combines international law, geopolitics, and environmental sciences, with a focus on renewable and marine energy resources, while also leading seminars and workshops on the Law of the Sea. He has cooperated as a research associate at European Center for Environmental Research and Development (EKePEK). He has contributed to scientific volumes on international law, and authored articles in both Greek and international publications. A graduate of Greece’s first institution of Participatory Democracy, organized by the Council of Europe, he has also collaborated with major news websites and frequently appears as an international affairs analyst on public and private television channels. Alongside his academic and media activity, he is also engaged in entrepreneurship through extensive family ventures.
