Kyriakos Anastasiadis (MD, PhD, FETCS, FCCP, FESC) is Professor of Cardiac Surgery and Rector and Chair of the Governing Council of Aristotle University. He is the Director of the Cardiothoracic Department at AHEPA University Hospital and leads a nationally and European accredited master’s programme in advanced cardiopulmonary and extracorporeal circulation techniques.
He has held senior leadership roles in academic medicine, including Head and Deputy Head of the School of Medicine, Aristotle University and he serves on key national bodies for cardiothoracic surgery training and certification. His academic and clinical work spans research, education, and innovation, with extensive international engagement. He founded the first English bachelor programme in the country in Medicine.
