Sofia Zyga is a Professor of Fundamentals of Nursing who currently serves as the Acting Rector and Chair of the Research Committee at the University of the Peloponnese in Greece. An elected Member of the University's Board of Directors, she has an extensive background in academic leadership, previously serving as the Vice-Rector of Research and Lifelong Education from 2016 to 2022. She holds a Ph.D. in Renal Nursing from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and has accumulated rich clinical and administrative experience, including tenure as Head of the Nursing Department. Her distinguished academic career features a prolific publication record with hundreds of widely cited, high-impact scientific papers focusing on nursing education, healthcare management, and patient quality of life, earning her over 20 academic awards.
