Deputy Minister of Environment and Energy

Maria – Eleni (Marilena) Soukouli – Viliali was born in Corinth on July 11, 1973. She studied Civil Engineering for Infrastructure Projects at the Technical University of Patras. In the professional field, she has been active as a freelance Civil Engineer with her own technical office. Her political career began in 2006, when she was elected Prefectural Councilor of the Prefecture of Corinth. In 2009, she served as Deputy Prefect for Productive Activities of the Prefectural Government of Corinth and Deputy Prefect, as a Member of the Monitoring Committee of the Operational Program of Western Greece, Peloponnese and Ionian Islands. From 2010 to 2019, she served as a Regional Councilor in the Peloponnese Regional Council. From 2021 to 2023, she served as an advisor to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on issues of Spatial Planning and Urban Development. In the parliamentary elections of 7 July 2019 and 25 June 2023, she was elected Member of Parliament for Corinth. In the context of her parliamentary duties, she is a member of the Standing Committee on Production and Trade, as well as the Standing Committee on Social Affairs. Ιn June 2006, she was appointed Deputy Minister of the Environment and Energy, responsible for spatial planning and urban planning.
