Claudia Schmucker is head of DGAP’s Center for Geoeconomics, and Technology. Prior to that, she had headed DGAP’s Globalization and World Economy Program since 2002. She has published extensively on European and transatlantic trade policies, global trade patterns and the WTO, the role of geoeconomics in trade, as well as on informal global forums such as the G7 and G20. She has been active in the Think7 (T7) and Think20 (T20) processes on trade issues and is part of the steering committee of the G20 Trade and Investment Research Network (TIRN). Dr. Schmucker studied at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität in Bonn, at Elmira College (NY) and at Yale University in the United States. She holds an MA in North American studies and a PhD in economics from the Free University of Berlin.
