Georgios (“George”) Karageorgiou, started his career as a project engineer for Kassos Maritime Enterprises from 1990 to 1992. From 1992 to 2005 he worked for Stelinvest Corp, initially forming and working for Stelmar Shipping Limited, while between 1995 and 2005 he was also a director of easyGroup Ltd, easyJet Holdings Ltd, and a number of other easyGroup companies. In 2006 he co-founded and became CEO of Globus Maritime Limited (until 2016) and from 2011 its President as well. Since 1st January 2017 he is President and CEO of Olympic Shipping and Management S.A, the shipping arm of the Onassis Foundation. Mr. Karageorgiou holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.E. in Ocean Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and a M.Sc. in Shipping Trade and Finance from City University Business School. He is a member of the Board of Directors of UGS, HELMEPA, INTERTANKO, GARD and the Hellenic Mutual War Risks Association. He is also a member of DNV GL Greek National Committee, ABS, ABS Hellenic National Committee and RINA Hellenic Advisory Committee.
