Peter Gassmann is the Global Strategy& leader and the Global ESG leader of PwC. He has been one of the leading figures to develop PwC/Strategy&’s unique “strategy through execution and reporting” ESG approach across all industries. With his deep expertise Peter supports clients to develop and implement leading strategies and business models in dramatically changing economic and technological environment. With more than 20 years of experience, Peter has successfully led multiple high- profile engagements in international settings in Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas. In recent years he has supported clients to understand the challenges and opportunities of ESG-related aspects and to transform the necessary business accordingly. Before joining PwC Strategy&, Peter was a divisional board member and Senior Risk Executive with a leading European bank where he led the market and operational risk units as well as the group-wide Basel II program. He also served in supervisory boards with regional banks. Peter started his professional career in investment banking in London after having received a PhD in Physics from the university in Aachen. Peter is a regular speaker at international conferences and has contributed to many publications.
