Born in Barcelona in 1962. I studied Classics at the University of Barcelona between 1980-85 (5-year degree) and then I took an MA at the University of Sheffield in the year 1985-86. I got my PhD back at the University of Barcelona in 1991 with a thesis on Apollonius of Rhodes. I worked in Secondary Education from 1987 until 2003, when I moved to the University of Oxford to teach Ancient Greek and Latin for the Faculty of Classics (including one year teaching for Merton College) until 2007. In 2007 I got the position of Senior Language Tutor at the University of St Andrews. I became British citizen in 2018. My main interest is the teaching of both languages, and for the last years I have been very interested in the system of teaching them using the "live method." Related to this, I have published some translations of well-known literary works into Greek and Latin, my latest one is a double translation of "The Importance of Being Earnest" (Oscar Wilde) into both languages, Ancient Greek and Latin. Apart from this, I also enjoy studying some modern languages.
