Dr Ioannis Moutzouris is an Onassis Lecturer in Finance, the Director of the MSc in Energy, Trade and Finance, and the Shipping and Energy Research Programme Lead at Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), City, University of London. He also acts as an academic adviser, analyst, and researcher at the Maritime Directorate of the UK Department for Transport. Ioannis holds both a BSc and an MENg in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens. He holds an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance, an MRes in Finance, and a PhD in Finance from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass), City, University of London. He has conducted postdoctoral research associated with the Bank of England. Among his areas of teaching and research are commodity markets, shipping analytics, and shipping finance and his work has been published in leading shipping, commodity, and finance academic journals. Ioannis has worked as a Supervising Naval Architect and Marine Engineer at the construction of Peers 2 and 3 at the Piraeus Container Terminal in Greece. He has also worked as a consultant to shipping-related companies.
