Iasson Tsakonas grew up in Athens Greece, he attended Athens College and graduated from Cornell University in 1994.  He then worked in New York City for Prudential Securities. In 1996, he moved to Azerbaijan where he started his own business in Finance and in Property Development, where he remained active until 2006. In 2001 he founded OLIAROS Property Development in Greece, introducing a residential development model with a strong focus on high quality architecture, hospitality and community building. OLIAROS over the past 18 years has been the main driver to establish the island of Antiparos as a new high-end residential destination in Greece. By today, OLIAROS has developed and sold 52 properties in 1.3 million m2 of land. Has established Beach House Antiparos which has been serving as a service and meeting point for OLIAROS’ clients and local community. The OLIAROS Villa Rentals arm has been managing a portfolio of 45 unique villas in Antiparos, of which 15 villas are exclusively managed. In 2006 Iasson initiated a regeneration project in Kerameikos-Metaxourgeio (KM), Athens, with 42 buildings, that has not been materialized. In 2007 he founded ReMap KM, a biannual contemporary art project, taking place four times until 2013. ReMap introduced a new concept in experiencing contemporary art in the city, open and free to the public and the neighborhoods.   Iasson is the co-founder of Cyclades Preservation Fund, which has a mission to support the natural beauty and value of the Cyclades and empower the local communities. OLIAROS is currently working on expanding its high-end residential and hospitality portfolio in new destinations.
