Ivan Korčok has been appointed Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic on 8 April 2020 after some thirty years of experience in the Slovak Foreign Service. As a career diplomat, Ivan Korčok served as Slovak Ambassador to the United States (2018-2020), Germany (2005-2009) and as Permanent Representative of Slovakia to the European Union (2009-2015). Ivan Korčok served twice as State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (2015-2018 and 2002-2005). In 2016, he was Government Plenipotentiary for the Slovak Presidency in the Council of the EU. Minister Korčok is a graduate of the University of Economics in Bratislava. He also completed post-graduate studies at the Institute of International Relations at the Comenius University in Bratislava.
