Michalis Kalogirou was born in Athens in 1975 and studied Law at the University of Foggia, Italy. He is a member of the Athens Bar Association and a lawyer in Greece and Italy since 2001. He was appointed Secretary General of the Interim Government (August-September 2015) and served as Secretary General of the Government under Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, from September 2015 until August 2018. From August 2018 to July 2019 he was Minister of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights. Today he is the Director of the Political Office of the President of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras.
