Founder and President of FIGHT IMPUNITY, Mr. Panzeri began his career as Secretary General of the Milan Metropolitan Chamber of Labour (from 1995 to 2003), responsible for European policies (2003-2004). Since 1997 he has been president of the cultural association "Archivio del Lavoro". As head of European policies of the italian trade union CGIL he deepens the issues related to the enlargement of the European Union to 25 countries, with particular attention to the issues of work, social conditions, fundamental rights of citizens. In 2004 he was elected to the European Parliament in the North-West region, receiving 105,000 votes. From 2004 to 2009 he held the following positions: Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs; Deputy Member of the Internal Market Commission (IMCO); Member of the Delegation for relations with the United States; Member of the Foreign Affairs Commission (AFET); Chair of the Delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries (DMAG); Deputy Member of the Delegation for relations with the countries of South East Asia (ASEAN). In 2014, he was re-elected to the European elections with 77,102 votes, and held the following positions: President Subcommittee on Human Rights (DROI); Member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET); Member of the Delegation for relations with the Maghreb countries and the Arab Maghreb Union (DMAG); Member of the Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (DMED). In September 2019, he founded a non-profit organisation in Brussels, called "FIGHT IMPUNITY : association against impunity and for transitional justice".
