George Petsis is the Managing Director of DPort Services as of May 2015 and the Managing Director of Piraeus Consolidation and Distribution Centre S.A.- PCDC (Subsidiary of Cosco Shipping Group) as of July 2015.  He has entered the port business industry in 2009, bringing in more than a decade of experience with leading companies of the finance industry in London and in Athens, including EY (Infrastructure Projects Division - Transaction Advisory), Moody’s Investors Services (International Public Finance & Government Related Entities Division) and CMA Quotevision (CDS and Bonds Pricing Team,  CME Group). George obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Business and Management Studies from Sunderland University, and a Master of Science in International Finance from Westminster University. By leading DPort Services and PCDC, a group of companies that employs more than 2,000 employees, George has established a highly experienced team of port industry professionals that leverages their expertise to successfully support and coordinate the services and logistics of the largest port in the Mediterranean sea and the 4th one in Europe. Responding to the contemporary approach to human resources management, DPort Services and PCDC consider their employees as the companies’ core competitive advantage. Technological considerations are nonetheless central to the field, but the highest ranks of innovation, efficiency and productivity can only be achieved through the empowerment and well-being of the company’s human resources. In this light, George has adopted a humanistic managerial approach out of principle – one invested in cultivating the staff’s inherent potential – which contributes to the work ethos and corporate values of DPort Services and PCDC while also extends itself to society. To support DPort Services and PCDC employees and their families as part of the corporate governance and corporate social responsibility, George has launched a series of social initiatives on behalf of the company, devoted to the support of the social, cultural and economic activities central to communities and their future, with particular focus on children.
