Jean François Dortier, aka “The Humanologist”, is a scientific writer and the founder of Sciences Humaines, a popular French magazine about social sciences. He has published a number of articles and book chapters on philosophy, sociology, cognitive sciences, psychology and history. His is also the author of many books (Les sciences humaines ; Les humains, mode d’emploi, L’homme cet étrange animal ; Après quoi tu cours ? ; La philosophie en quatre questions ; etc.) and has directed other works (Dictionnaire des sciences Humaines, le Cerveau et la pensée, Révolutions dans nos origines). In 2020, he founded L’Humanologue, a quarterly magazine he writes all by himself, devoted to one question: What is a human being ?
