Vincenzo Amendola is Undersecretary of State for EU Affairs at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. He has been Minister of European Affairs from 2019 to 2021. From January 2016 to June 2018, he has been Secretary of State to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. After his election to the Chamber of Deputies in March 2013, he became the party's group leader to the Committee on Foreign and EU Affairs and a parliamentary delegate to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). He has held various positions in the Democratic Party at the regional and national levels. In particular, in 2006, he joins the National Secretariat of the Democratici di Sinistra (Left Democratic) Party and takes the lead of the party's Regional Secretariat in the Campania Region. In October 2009, he wins the Campania's primary elections and becomes Regional Secretary of the Democratic Party (PD) a post that he holds until February 2014. In September 2014, as a member of the PD national secretariat, he is in charge of Foreign and European Affairs and of the relations with the European Socialist Party.
