Jérémie Pellet, 43, is Chief Executive Officer of Expertise France, the French agency for international cooperation since 2018 (1.500 people, +100 countries, €340m turnover). He was previously Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Agence Française de Développement, the French Development Bank providing loans and grants for the benefit of developing countries (2,500 employees, projects €10Bn/y, assets €40Bn). Within the AFD Group, he was in charge of supervising private-sector and non-sovereign activities, strategy, partnerships, communication, research and innovation. He was also the Vice-Chairman of the board of Proparco, the private sector subsidiary of AFD, and chairs its investment committee. He graduated from the Strasbourg Institute of Political Studies and started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, prior to joining the National School of Administration (ENA – Léopold Sedar Senghor class). He then joined the Ministry of the Economy and Finance. After having spent 3 years at the Office of the Control of Concentrations and Aid, he joined CDC Entreprises (now BPIFrance), a venture capital subsidiary of Caisse des Dépôts Group, as Investment Director, where he followed investment funds operating in the South of France, Overseas France and the Maghreb region. His work included following CDC’s acquisition of a stake in Proparco and managing, with AFD, their mutual venture capital fund in the French overseas departments. In 2009, Jérémie joined BNP Paribas as Director of the corporate and investment bank’s regulatory affairs, and was responsible for the implementation of Basel III, prior to joining the bank’s market Fixed Income Department, where he was in charge of structuring financial solutions for European banks and insurance companies. He joined the French Prime Minister, Manuel Valls, when he was appointed in 2014, to follow economic and financial issues, including the Macron Law, the creation of Business France and the plans to establish closer ties between AFD and CDC. In his free time, Jérémie likes to spend time with his family, with his two daughters (12 and 10), is an amateur photographer and plays jazz guitar. He is also an avid marathon runner.
