Stuart first moved to Greece over 30 years ago on completion of his PhD in Chemistry at Lancaster University. Ever since his life’s path has been inextricably linked with the ties forged between Britain and Greece, especially within the educational sector. Stuart joined St Catherine’s British School in Athens in 2000 where he is Head of Upper School. In this capacity he has played an integral role in the transition from a small prep school into a renowned International Baccalaureate and COBIS accredited 3-18 school, one that in September 2020 opened the doors of new state-of-the-art secondary school facility in Kifissia. In parallel, for two decades Stuart contributed to international education in the capacity as Principal Moderator and curriculum developer in Chemistry for the International Baccalaureate Organisation. Beyond the professional domain Stuart has three grown up children all of whom followed a bicultural path of Greek curriculum education, followed by St Catherine’s Upper School and then on to university in the UK. Although they are all now resident in the UK, Stuart himself has remained committed to Greece and in 2021 was proudly sworn in as a Greek citizen.
