Vice-Rector (Vice-President) at Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and Professor of Business at Católica-Lisbon School of Business & Economics, where he teaches Corporate Governance and International Management. With a vast business experience, Miguel currently serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Galp Energia (oil & gas and energy), and as board member of Brisa-CR (infra-structure and tolled highways). Formerly, Miguel was Chairman and CEO of the Portuguese Stock Exchange (Euronext Lisbon), and a member of the Managing Board of Euronext N.V. (Netherlands). He was also member of the Management Committee of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE Euronext). Before that, he was executive board member of Caixa Geral de Depósitos (the largest Portuguese bank) and of Jerónimo Martins (international retail and distribution). He was also President of AICEP — the Portuguese Agency for Trade and Investment. Miguel has taught in several MBA and Executive programmes and he was one of the first Europeans to teach at CEMI Business School (Beijing, Shanghai).
