Ludwig Forrest is Head of Philanthropy at the King Baudouin Foundation’s Centre for Philanthropy that provides information, guidance and tailor-made help on strategic philanthropy to private donors, families, businesses and professional advisers who wish to engage in public benefit initiatives. He serves as well as international philanthropy architect for global philanthropic movements. Helping donors and beneficiaries to find effective solutions for philanthropic intentions, and fostering and enabling the European and international cross-border giving environment by promoting the borderless giving Alliance Myriad and the Transnational Giving Europe network are his main objectives. Ludwig joined the KBF 22 years ago. Ludwig is also member of the Board of the Belgian Federation of Philanthropic Foundations and highly involved in the PHILEA Philanthropy Advocacy initiative. He advocates at national and EU-level, and is publicist and regular speaker/moderator at international conferences. He has been appointed to take the Expert role for the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC)  Opinion “Philanthropy, an untapped potential in Europe”. Also he organized and coordinated the three first editions of the Philanthropy Day in Brussels and the first edition of the Spring of Philanthropy gathering more than 1500 persons from Belgium and Europe interested in Philanthropy. Next edition is foreseen in April 2023.
