Olin Wethington is an entrepreneur, investor, and founder of Wethington International LLC, focused on investing in innovative technologies and intellectual property-based early-stage companies, primarily in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, infrastructure development in clean energy, cybersecurity and innovative e-learning platforms. Mr. Wethington is also a Distinguished Fellow at the Council on Competitiveness in the United States and a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security. He has served as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Board of Directors of the George C. Marshall Foundation, the Atlantic Council, and the International Republican institute. Earlier in his career, Mr. Wethington also served as: Assistant Secretary for International Affairs, U.S .Department of the Treasury (during that time he served as US G-7 finance deputy); Counselor to the Secretary of the Treasury; Special Envoy on China; Director of Economic Policy, Coalition Provisional Authority, Baghdad, Iraq; Deputy Under Secretary for international Trade, US Department of Commerce; and Special Assistant to the President and Executive Secretary, Economic Policy Council, White House (under President George H.W. Bush). He was a partner for fifteen years in the international law firm Steptoe & Johnson based in Washington, DC. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of Pennsylvania. He is a recipient of the Alexander Hamilton Award, the highest honor of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
